It's been years since I've been to one of these. They've gotten bigger! I was supposed to go with a friend but he had to bail at the last minute so I was reduced to being a solitary middle-aged man taking pictures with girls young enough to be my daughter (exept Keisha, who is only a few years younger than me and, obviously, has held up better ;-). Still, the hormones must be obeyed so off I went.
The Playmates still tend to be more interested in talking to each other than the fans. Hef showed up (he wore the Bettie Page shirt I almost wore that day) and looks old (which you expect of a guy who is going to be 80 in a few months). Tried to get a picture with Bobbi Billard but she spent so much time talking to industry guys/friends that I blew her off (Update: Bobbi (very politely) assures me this wasn't the case so I apologize for bitching about it). Late in the day, the sight of so many of the ladies on their cell phones was interesting. I'm amazed at the women who go through the hassle of getting a booth only to spend their time doing other things.
All whining aside, it's a fun way to spend an afternoon. Beautiful women everyone (both exhibiting and attending). Oh how I envy the guys whose wives and girlfriends take pictures of them with the girls. Me? I told my wife I was attending a bodybuilding show. Sad but true.
